ESA/Sick Note

I made a application for Contribution ESA on 7th April. I today received a phone call from DWP asking to post form SSP1 to them and also sicknote starting from 7th April. The lady also said they will pass on my information to local jobcentre who will then invite me.

My question is that as I have been giving sicknotes to my employer I have a sick which started which started on 15th March to 15th May will this be a problem for DWP as they need one from 7th April?

Thanks

You can send the fit note you used for your employer. ESA can be backdated for up to 3 months, however, if you were claiming SSP then ESA can't be paid at the same time.

SSP ended on the 6th April. I am happy that I will be able to use the same sicknote otherwise I don't know what I was going to do.
