Blind Tax Allowance - Transfer help!

Hey there,
I was registered as SEVERLY SIGHT IMPAIRED in Jan 2023 and when I spoke to the EYE CLINIC LIASON OFFICER who works for the RNIB, they told me that I could apply for BLIND TAX ALLOWANCE.
However, at this moment in time, I have been deemed unfit to work and therefore I have transfered my BLIND TAX ALLOWANCE to my partner, who I have been with for 12 years and living with for the last 9 years however, we are not married.
I was able to successfully transfer my BLIND TAX ALLOWANCE however, I really feel I have made a mistake because it states it can only be transferred to a "CIVIL PARTNER OR SPOUSE."
Is anyone able to advise? Should I be allowed to transfer to my partner whom I live with even though we are not married? If anyone can shine any further info, I would really appreciate it!
Many thanks in advance.
Dan

Yes you can only transfer it to your wife or civil partner so you are not eligible to transfer it to your partner.
