State pension (paid by DWP) or pension from work (paid by employer's scheme) please?

So if you worked for that local council, maybe for work pension.

Regarding state pension remember the other 5 benefits you get then also - free prescriptions, £10 Xmas bonus, free eye tests, winter fuel allowance, free 'bus pass Worth a bit.

The LA has nothing to do with the state pension system, whether you live in LA housing or not.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Then i don't think your rent will be paid by DWP/LA when you go onto state pension. However i think you should seek professional advice as if your income changes drastically you may be eligible for support.

In case you're not aware (a lot of people aren't) you have to claim your State Pension, it doesn't just turn up when you reach pension age:

Once you have reached State Pension age you may be able to claim Pension Credit which can include things like Housing Benefit.

Some of those are nothing to do with State Pension, free prescriptions and eye tests are available from 60 (in England) and while the free bus pass in England is not available until you reach State Pension age you don't have to be in receipt of the state pension in order to get it.
