Morning again - it's a gloomy damp one as well. Typical Bank Holiday weather, not that we are going anywhere.
Yesterday was an ok day, just spent tidying, the usual household jobs.
I'm going to see an old friend this morning, she's housebound, but loves to see friends. She only lives a short walk away.
That's all I've got planned, but I can always find something to do round the house.
Sorry to read that you aren't well Camelot, I hope you'll soon feel better. It's annoying to be ill when you're on holiday.
Ruby, don't work too hard with your jobs in the house, it all sounds lovely though.
Hope you enjoyed your trip to Glasgow Gers.
I've just remembered I've got a pair of trousers to take up for Ds, we finally got the leg length sorted out when we there on Saturday. It's a straightforward job though.
Hope you manage to stop visiting cats wrecking your planted tubs Dp1, there were some good ideas posted.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.13 -

Morning All
Bright and sunny this morning but there's been a fair bit of rain overnight.
Terrible night's sleep so will be napping on the sofa later, there are a few programmes I can catch up on too. I'm still snotty and don't feel too good, typical it's my holidays!
Enjoy your lunch date iris.
Happy visiting Scarlet.
Hope you all have a good day. Take care. XX

Morning folks, thanks for starting us off Scarlet. A really dreadful morning at 6.00am has already turned bright and sunny. Here's hoping it stays that way.My drive to Glasgow was more eventful than I wanted. Short story, a driver in a left hand drive car pulled out to overtake just as I was overtaking him. After scaring me half to death he didn't stop. I kept on behind him and called the police who were brilliant. It took a while for them catch up with us but eventually came roaring up blasting blues and twos to stop him - right outside the police station. He got quite a shock when four police officers and three cars turned up. 😀. The police gave him very strong words of advice about his driving and the requirement to stop after an accident, breathalysed us both and sent him on his way. Magnificent response. One officer told me that the majority of all collisions on the A82 / A83 involve left hand drive cars and tourists. After that the rest of my day was much calmer. I was in the opticians a whole half hour, new glasses collected, new lenses fitted, a spare set of glasses ordered and a supply of lenses. Happily the drive home was uneventful and easy. I went to visit my visitors for an evening meal and glass of wine. Very restorative. 😀
I hope that everyone has had a good weekend. Camelot - get better soon. So far, I don't feel unwell so, hopefully, you haven't passed the virus to me.Happy Easter Monday to all.14 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Oh no CAMELOT, that's a bit unfair over an Easter holiday. I hope you get off lightly and don't feel too poorly.
The promised wind and rain has yet to arrive here. It's dry and calm out there - for now! If it does hit us there are plenty of jobs I should be doing indoors. I did a lot of timewasting yesterday roaming all the gardening sites for ideas of plants and climbers I'd like to put in this spring. But even the price of plants has joined the cost of living crisis I see!! That's put a stop to my grand ideas!!
I had a very sad message from my DF yesterday telling me her poorly dog had suddenly worsened and they had to say goodbye to her. She is heartbroken. All I can do is sympathise as we went through that ourselves with our much loved dogs and can understand how she is feeling.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. Take care all be safe xx

Morning all & Happy Easter Monday. It's a bit dull today with rain on and off. Camelot hope you're feeling better today, and Gers you've got over your shock. TA as a dog owner of many years, I completely understand how upset the loss of a pet makes you feel- after all they are one of the familyDGD is back from her hol and hopefully will be coming with us to the match this afternoon.DGS still away- I don't think I've ever not seen him for this longI have a pork fillet for tea , so that will cook quick when we get back.Something I am relieved at is I finally have access back to my bank account & card. After a strongly worded email on Friday and a sensible reply on Saturday I was able to reset with new security at last, phew - it's been a long 2 weeks. DH still hasn't received his new card pin though he was back online soon after the scam. The only way he's been able to pay for things like fuel was to transfer some money to DS, who then withdrew some cash for him. I want to 'test' my new card this morning with a small purchase, probably some wild bird food as they are going through the stuff like crazy atm.Right, better get on with the day! Hugs to poorlies and MIA.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11

Morning. I did start posting yesterday but got distracted. The neighbour ame round to borrow my wheelbarrow so after that I went into the garden and stayed there for a while, mostly sorrting out old pots, the compost and spent grains . I've lasgana'd them up in two small beds now as well as filled one of the bins three quarters full. I made a slow roast leg of lamb and dauphinoise potatoes with some broccoli and carrots for dinner. I'm getting better at the gravy too. My new preferred method is put the carrots, celery and onions under the meat, add in water, wine or sherry, and a bit of stock powder, not much, then pour off any fat at the end, whiizz it all up and add a slurry to thicken. Looks an awful colour, tastes lovely. Better get some gravy browning or food colouring
Green gravy anyone? Saying that I did put a couple of spoons of mint in yesterdays, tasted lovely. Obviously there are leftovers for today. [and tomorrow...] It's raining quite annoying today and I only have plans to visit one friend and coffee with two others tonight.
camelot, what a rubbish time to get it, hope you get well soon. Gers, what a shock, hope you're ok today, and quick thinking there! Scarlet, my condolences too. Look after yourselves all, I hope there is indulgence in your future day...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -
Morning allIt's raining here in Kent, not expected to stop until 1ish. Perfect Bank Holiday weather..... NOTFamily coming round later to exchange Easter eggs and have a cheeky takeaway.Lovely lamb roast dinner yesterday so I'll be carving up what's left later. Might freeze some if there's lots left over but definitely save some for lamb sandwiches - yum!Just having a coffee after doing some ironing and that's my exertion done for the today. I did want to go into the garden for an hour or so but the wet stuff has put paid to that.Have a good day all x11
