Unlikely it would be more in a building society account.missymouse said:To Vanguard which is my current S&S
easier all in one place
I think it would be worth more in a Building society
Sure there will be the odd year in isolation that cash is best but the further you go in time left, the less likely that is.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). There have been many threads observing that current cash interest rates are higher than recent investment returns, but that's a flawed comparison, as saving and investing are addressing two fundamentally different requirements! When do you anticipate needing access to the money?missymouse said:I think it would be worth more in a Building society1 -
yes thanks I understand what you are saying
i think the fees seem quite high in Nutmeg and the amount has been invested for 7:years’
I don’t need to cash it but want it to work well for me0 -
Moving the money to another S&S ISA provider could be a good move. Moving it all from investments to cash is a more drastic move.missymouse said:yes thanks I understand what you are saying

In 2022, the majority of losses have been in gilts and fixed interest securities. Not equities. Indeed, equities were what stopped the losses in 2022 being worse. Those that were 100% equities saw very little loss.missymouse said:yes thanks I understand what you are saying

So, be careful if you are blaming equities for the loss when it may have been gilts. And moving to another asset class on a bad assumption is never a good idea.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
