House value increasing while in the process of selling

    To be clear, I'm surprised that you suggest that your house price has notably increased in the past few months as that certainly hasn't been the case in my local area, where houses stagnate on Rightmove, before getting the occasional decrease and stagnating some more.

    But even if this was the case, this is just part and parcel of buying a house.

    As house prices have mostly trended upwards, people would never be able to sell houses if they attempted to renegotiate the deal every month their house seemed to increase in value.

    It's also a bit of a 'wanting your cake and eating it' situation, as presumably if the market was trending upwards, your onward purchase has increased in value also. I'd imagine you wouldn't be so understanding if your onward purchase contacts you today asking for another £20k on your offer a few months ago because the market is booming.

    I think you are letting your frustration with the EA/buyer cloud your view on things.
