Now back, it's a fine morning here, I'm hoping to get some washing out.
We returned from our little holiday on Friday, we had a lovely time. It was cold at times, but that didn't stop us doing anything.
My dil's dad died while we were away - he had been ill for a few years, but finally slipped peacefully away. It was not an unexpected death, but still sad nonetheless.
I haven't read back yet, so I don't know what everyone has been up to.
Hope everyone is ok though, and has a good day.
Take care folks.10 -
Morning folks, welcome home Scarlet and thanks for starting us off. Condolences too.My day was spent pottering around, putting away the bits and pieces of daily life. Later on my friends arrived at their holiday cottage after the long drive. I zoomed up for a refreshing glass of wine and supper. Before that we came back here so that they could get some of my wood, left my car here and enjoyed a lovely evening together. The son then drove me home - it's under five minutes away.Today I have an unexpected trip down to Glasgow 🙁 to my optometrist. Yesterday a receptionist called about collecting my new glasses and to arrange a fitting session for the new contacts. Well, that's only done between 9.00am- 10.00am or 4.00pm-5.00pm. As I'm 100 miles away I wasn't keen on those times. Eventually I was offered a Sunday, either today or 30 April, so plumped for today. Needs must, my fingers are crossed for a less difficult drive home. 😀
Happy Easter to all. Some are doing building work, some seeing family, some doing long walks, some doing doggie walks, some spending the day quietly and a lot eating chocolate (in moderation). 🐣🐣🐣10 -

Hi everyone,
Happy Easter, I hope everyone is doing something they enjoy.
We won the quiz last night and had an enjoyable evening apart from seeing how frail one of our friends has become. He is only Steve's age (67) but has a number of health issues and has lost a lot of weight recently.
There's not a lot else to report. I bought a fresh duck from Lidl so we'll have that for dinner and no doubt the dog will be walked at some point but that's about it.
Have a good day.10 -

Morning all
Happy Easter 🐣 to everyone xx
All the new flooring has now been laid downstairs it has transformed the area, all the architrave has been done downstairs, and I ripped out all the old skirting and architrave upstairs and took the old carpet out, today we need to fit the skirting board downstairs and then we can get everything back in place until the decorators come in, we can the start to do the skirting and architrave upstairs, hopefully all the noisy stuff will be finished today, I have then got to get hold of a decorator who all seem to be very busy atm but we can wait a while for that.
Meatballs and pasta for dinner tonight I will make the sauce up this morning and brown the meatballs off before putting in the sauce, that way they will be ready to shove in the oven later.
I have put a towel wash on this morning and they can be hung out for a while, rest of the house looks like a bomb has gone off but never mind !
Scarlet welcome back and condolences to you xx
Have good days all and eat lots of chocolate xxx9 -
Morning everyone and Happy Easter
Just having my breakfast, then will get dressed and go down to sit with dad while mam goes to church. Need to drop off little nephews Easter present too. Little one will be up later - she's having a sleepover tonight as DD is going out.
We had a lovely day yesterday. I took her to one of the parks in town where there was an Easter bunny hunt - she loved doing it and was really good at finding all the bunnies. The reward was a little chocolate egg. It's a lovely park with lots of wooden sculptures of local animals and birds - little one loves it there. Then we had a walk by the river and to another park - this one a play park. Unexpectedly met my niece, her partner and little nephew which was lovely. Niece and I sat in the sunshine while the two little ones had a great play with nephew's daddy. Little one conquered her fear of the very big slide and had a great time on it.
They had a lovely long play and then we went up to Costa for a hot chocolate, then got the bus back home and DD picked her up - she'd been in bed fast asleep by 5.30! I spent the rest of the afternoon finishing my book in the sunshine. Hoping it's as nice this afternoon.
Better be going as I need to leave soon.
Oh has anyone got any tips for keeping cats out of planters? A cat poos in my biggest planter every night...it's not mine cos she's kept in overnight. It's really annoying.
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning All
Bedding on the line blowing away merrily. Dry and fine but not as sunny as the last few days.
DD and little one came over yesterday afternoon whilst I was gardening, she collected lots of empty snail shells - asked us every time she found one if it had 'slime' in! She planted some peas and beans and took them home. Lovely afternoon in the sunshine.
Today isn't so good, woke up in the night with a sore throat and runny nose and felt a bit off this morning. I was meant to be going to DS1s with DD, partner and the little one for an easter egg hunt and lunch but I've tested positive for covid. I drove over to DDs to drop the easter eggs off, just left them on her doorstep. Wish I hadn't done so much in the garden yesterday as I'm confined to home. Never mind, there's always some pottering to do in the greenhouse!
You've been busy Ruby, sounds like it makes such a difference.
Pleased to hear you had a good holiday Scarlet, sorry to hear of the bereavement.
Well done on winning the quiz Snoozer.
Safe drive Gers.
Happy Easter to you all. Take care. XX10 -
Made it to Glasgow in one piece. It’s very quiet here, mind you there are a huge number of bikers heading up to Inveraray. Four police bikes behind and three speed cameras dotted around. 😀9
