I have a 8yr old SMETS1 meter which no longer connects to the IHD. There has been one change of owner and 2 changes of supplier.
Is it likely that the HUGO app will be able to monitor my usage etc?
Further to that, will the hugo app work on a laptop?

We have a SMETS1 meter and it links with all the apps fine as long as you can provide serial numbers of the meters. Hugo was the first metering app I used so that's the layout I like the most but Bright gives you on the day usage rather than yesterday's on Hugo.

I have Hugo, bright and loop. Hugo cs is very good. It is my go to app as you can set your exact tariff including time of day which previously at least the other apps do not support.

As mentioned they only poll data daily whereas then other apps do so a few rimes a day.

Used Hugo for the winter cash back events, payment is due in the next few days.
    I think....

Thanks for all the info. Have downloaded HUGO, registered, etc. They say unable to find my meter based on my MPRN (which they confirmed correct for my address)
How can I progress further as there is no option to enter meter numbers?
    Thanks again for the help

  • Apps such as Bright etc will only work if the SMETS 1 meter has been adopted by and enrolled on the DCC-managed smart meter network.

use this website to see if your meter has been enrolled onto the DCC. If it has then apps like Bright, Hugo etc should work. If it hasn't then its either not cpable of being enrolled or your energy company hasn't asked for it to be.

My SMETS1 meter, installed in 2017 and some seven energy companies later has been working in Smart mode since Symbio enrolled it a couple of years ago (before they went bust) and its still working now I'm with EoN-Next

Thanks for that Matlodave, Did the chck and found it's not rgistred on DCC. It was sending readings for the previous houseowner and IHD was operating when I bought the house. Is it possible that it has been de registerd?

SMETS1 meters were supplier dependent. If you switched to a supplier that was using the same meter model then the new supplier could access data. If you switched to a supplier that used a different SMETS1 meter model, then the new supplier could not access the meter.

Thanks again, that explains it I guess
