I've just re-finished a dining table in Fiddes Hard Wax Oil (satin finish - non tinted), and I'm now in love with the Fiddes brand.  It's sold as a finish for worktops, so figured it'd be durable enough for a dining table.
I had no clue how to re-finish the table, after stripping decades of varnish and who knows what off the wood, but after reading the whole of the Wood Finishes Direct website, I opted for the Fiddes stuff.  Only used about 1cm out of a 250ml tin, for two coats on a 5ft x 3 ft ish table.
