TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR “RENFIELD ” (THE “COMPETITION”).

These terms and conditions (the “Specific Terms”) for the Competition should be read alongside our general competition terms and conditions at: http://www.bauerlegal.co.uk/radio-competition-terms.html (the “General Terms”) which will also apply to this Competition. Where there is any conflict between these Specific Terms and the General Terms, the Specific Terms shall prevail.

 

1.ENTRY ROUTES AND COSTS Entries are restricted to one per person.

2.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN       

There are two (2) ways to win this competition; online and on-air. 

 

2.2 THE ON AIR COMPETITION PRE-REGISTRATION

 

The pre-registration for the on-air competition is open from Wednesday 5th April at 00:01 (the “Start Time”) to Wednesday 12th April 2023 at 14:00 (“End Time”).

 

Anyone interested in taking part in this competition must register their details on the competition page accurately and agree to these terms and conditions. Refer to section 1 for entry route. Entrants must give their full name, contact details and a few sentences and you and your boss.

 

Registering to take part in this competition does not provide any guarantee that you will come on-air or win a prize.

 

Up to 3 semi-finalists will be selected at random from valid pre-registered entries and put into a shortlist to go through to the next stage of the competition – this will happen at the times specified below.

 

Becoming a semi-finalist or finalist does not mean you are a winner, nor does it mean you will receive the prize, but you will have qualified for the next stage of the competition should you be available to participate when called by the production team.

 

 

2.3 SHORTLISTING AND BEING INVITED TO PLAY THE ON-AIR GAME:

 

There will be 10 chances to win the Prize Package as described in section Prize 5.0 which will be executed during two different shows- the KISS Breakfast show with Jordan and Perri between 0700 and 1000, or The Home Straight Show with Jordan Lee between 1600 and 1900 from Monday to Friday from Tuesday 11th April to Friday 14th April 2023 (“The Promotional Week”). 

 

For each of the competition rounds, there will be a shortlist of up to 3 semi-finalists chosen by random electronic draw from all valid entries up to that point. These semi-finalist draws will take place at the below dates/times:

 

-           For the competition on Tuesday 11th April 2023, the draw will take place at 2pm on Thursday 6th April 2023

 

-           For the competition on Wednesday 12th April 2023., the draw will take place at 2pm on Thursday 6th April 2023

 

-           For the competition on Thursday 13h April 2023, the draw will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 11th April 2023

 

-           For the competition on Friday 14th April 2023, the draw will take place at 2pm on Wednesday 12th April 2023

 

 

From the daily shortlisted semi-finalists, the KISS production team will contact 1 shortlisted entrant and their boss at random to check their availability to play the on-air game at an agreed time and date. If the shortlisted entrant or their boss cannot make the agreed date, they will both forfeit their chance to enter the next round and the production team will move on to another randomly selected entrant from the shortlist and repeat the process until they have found someone that can play in the on-air game.

 

Speaking to a member of the production team does not guarantee you will be invited to play the game or win the prize; only when told you are a finalist by the team will you progress to the next stage of the competition.

 

 

2.4 THE COMPETITION

The Competition will air during two different shows- the KISS Breakfast show with Jordan and Perri between 0700 and 1000 and The Home Straight Show with Jordan Lee between 1600 and 1900 from Tuesday 11th April to Friday 14th April 2023, during the on-air competition period (see section 3. DATES). Exact timings of the competition within this broader timeframe will be given by the production team, upon contacting semi-finalists. There is the chance that some of these competition rounds will be pre-recorded prior to the show times but after the finalists have been selected.

 

2.5 HOW TO WIN

 

Have you got what it takes to go head-to-head with your Boss?  

 

The chosen contestant and their boss who have been selected to play the on-air game will play head-to-head in a competition round consisting of 1 question.

 

The contestant will be given one category. Each contestant will then have to take it in turns going backwards and forwards naming as many things in that category as possible. The first person to give an incorrect answer, repeat an answer or pause for longer than 3 seconds will lose.

 

If the employee wins, they win the prize (refer to section 5 for prizing details). If the boss wins, they can either keep the prize for themselves or give it to their employee. If the boss keeps the prize they will be deemed the winner. After the competition round Bauer Media will get in contact via the phone number, they provided for the use of the competition round to organise the prize

  

The category of the round will be determined by the KISS production team. The production team will hold a list of correct answers. If the answer is not listed, then it is not deemed a correct answer. All final decisions rest with the KISS production team.

 

 

The KISS Production Team reserve the right to pre-record any part of this competition with contestants before the 'as-live' broadcast

 

If the contestant wins a prize and it is subsequently discovered that they do not fulfil these specific terms and conditions, nor the general competitions terms and condition, they will be disqualified. 3. ENTRY PERIOD        

 

Entries must be submitted during the following entry period:

 

2.         On air: From Wednesday 5th April at 0001 (the “Start Time”) to Wednesday 12th April 2023 at 1400(“End Time”). 

 

There will be 2 x competition rounds broadcast every day from Tuesday 11th April 2023 (on-air start date) to the Friday 14th April 2023 (on-air end date) during KISS Breakfast show with Jordan and Perri between 0700 and 1000 and The Home Straight Show with Jordan Lee between 1600 and 1900 Tuesday to Friday. 

 

Entries received before the pre-registration start date or after the pre-registration end date will be invalid. 

 

Please note KISS reserves the right to remove the competition for any event such as a public holiday. 

 

3.1 WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT: 

 

The name of the on-air winners will be announced on-air after each competition round.

 

Entries received before the Start Time or after the End Time for either entry route will be invalid. 

 

4. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS         

•          Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry. 

•          Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter.

•          If anyone has won a competition on any Bauer Media brand (see point below) to the value of £500 or more in the past 6 months, they or any person at the winning address will not be eligible to win the competition. Winning the on-air competition will trigger this condition for the online competition.

•          We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. 5. THE PRIZE    The Prize for both on-air and online is outlined below:

•          Travel Insurance

 

PRIZE SPECIFIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Economy flights from major airports in London only; 

Flight ticket only includes hand luggage; 

Flight itinerary will be selected by prize provider at their sole discretion; 

Winner and guest must have full passport valid for at least 6 months at time of travel; 

Any necessary visas are responsibility of winner and guest; 

A valid credit or debit card will be required for security deposit purposes when checking into hotel accommodation; 

Hotel accommodation is based on two adults sharing one double occupancy room; Hotel will be selected by prize provider at their sole discretion; 

Travel insurance is subject to restrictions and the terms and conditions of the insurance provider. It is the responsibility of the winner and/or their companions to meet any additional costs relating to obtaining insurance cover for any pre-existing medical condition and for any additional costs as may be specified where the winner and/or their companions are aged 70 or over; 

Prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable; No cash alternative is available; 

Prize is subject to availability; 

Prize cannot be taken over the months of July and August, 21st December 2023– 2nd January 2024 (Christmas and New Year), or over UK public holidays; 

Prize is valid for 12 months from the date of notification of winning, and travel must be booked and completed within that time frame; 

Winners must contact prize provider with three preferred travel dates in three separate months no later than six weeks prior to departure; 

Stay must include a Saturday night in the hotel; 

The Recipients must travel at the same time with the same itinerary; All elements of the prize must be taken at the same time;

At least one traveller must be aged 18 or over; Where any travellers are aged under 18, they must have prior parental or guardian permission; 

The prize excludes domestic ground transfers;

The prize package inclusions are subject to availability, where any of the stated inclusions are unavailable, Element London Ltd will offer suitable alternatives of equal value;

If winner is unable to participate in any of the stated activities then Element London Ltd will offer suitable alternatives of equal value, alternative activities will be determined by prize provider at their sole discretion; 

Dinner at the specified restaurant is provided to the value of €75 EUR per person, including gratuity; 

If winner chooses to forfeit any activities then no alternatives will be provided; 

Prize must be taken in accordance with government guidelines and COVID-19 rules and restrictions in place at the time of travel, the arrangement and additional costs for any COVID-19 testing, quarantine accommodation or other expenses that may be incurred are the sole responsibility of the winner and guests;

By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you have submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you any remuneration therefore and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize if applicable. We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had.

 

3.         MISCELLANEOUS.

 

•          Entries which do not comply with these Terms or the General Competition Terms and Conditions will not be accepted and any entries may be disqualified if we have any reason to suspect that there is a breach of, or non-compliance with, these Terms.

•          Where a competition mechanic involves the answering of questions, the correct answers to questions must match our answers to win (or be sufficiently close in our sole reasonable opinion) to be acceptable. In the event of any dispute about any answers given and whether they are correct, we reserve the right to amend what we deem a correct answer, however we are not obliged to, and our decision in either case is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 

•          We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call. 

•          You are responsible for all costs of entry and where necessary, obtaining the bill payer’s permission. Please refer to your tariff with your network provider for information about charges you may incur for entry into our competitions via any SMS or phone call entry route. 

•          We accept no liability for network, technical or signal errors, issues or failures experienced by entrants when entering the competition or at any stage during the mechanic of the competition.

If you do so we reserve the right to take you off-air immediately and disqualify you from the competition. Any prize already won may be withdrawn and re-awarded to another entrant.

•          As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition or any element of the Prize.

 

•          We may cancel, end or suspend the Competition where we are required to do so in circumstances outside our control.
