strictly you should contact the bank and tell them that he has died. Then when you see a funeral director you can tell them to send the invoice to the bank. the bank may well hand over the money anyway on sight of the death certrich_shot2003 said:Can i double check something we have gone to hospital and picked up his wallet and his bank code and pin was in there.
So we went to cashpoint and he has money in his account which would cover everything.
So as we are sorting it all out what are the rules about taking money out?
Would we get into trouble if we took money out to cover all the cists?0 -
If there’s a lot of money in there, and someone does need to administer the estate, then make sure you are up-to-date on the intestacy rules which set out where how any money left over after the funeral and debts are paid should be shared between any family members according to their relationship - wife, child etc.
