Hi,
We're married pensioners, both in our late sixties. We live in a lovely home. Recently, we've undertaken some renovations....but we are thinking that we really need to replace our old aluminium double glazing. Our windows must be about 40 years old. What is the best way for an elderly couple with a limited budget to go about this?

Hi, there is some recent info from this very site in the following link -
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/housing-and-energy-grants/
Scroll down to 'Home Upgrade Grant ...'
There's also info here - https://www.doubleglazingfunding.co.uk/government-green-homes-grant-for-2021/
You could also google something like - 'double glazing grants for a low income uk' - lots of links popped up when I did that.
Good luck with it all. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Although I do carry out careful research before posting and never intend to mislead or supply out-of-date or incorrect information, please do not rely 100% on what you are reading. Verify everything in order to protect yourself as you are responsible for any action you consequently take.0 -
Be aware the link given above doesn't take you to a government grants page but to a private company called "Help2buy windows" which basically wants your info to pass onto double glazing firms.....1
