G24 LTD PARKING TICKET FOR OVERSTAYING CAR PARK, IAS APPEAL, FADED TIME LIMIT ON SIGNAGE

Dear forum members,

I am writing to seek advice regarding an unfair parking ticket that I received from G24 LTD on 22nd Jan for overstaying my time limit at the Sports Direct car park located at Unit 6, The Junction, West Thurrock Way, Thurrock, RM20 3LP. I have already appealed within the 14-day period but it was rejected, and now I am in the process of appealing to the Independent Appeals Service (IAS).

My appeal is based on the fact that I was not aware of the maximum time limit of 120 minutes as the signs next to where I parked were faded and not visible to me. In their response, G24 LTD has provided images of the signs in the car park ( which showed clear black font but they were taken on March 2022), but I have taken pictures and a video taken yesterday showing that the time limit on the signs next to where I parked is extremely faded. I have also mentioned this in my initial appeal and when I first wrote to the IAS.

I am unsure whether to respond to the "evidence" provided by G24 LTD on the IAS website or refer the case to arbitration. Additionally, I am a 19-year-old student and cannot afford to pay the discounted charge of £60, let alone the full amount of £100. I've just noticed the email from the IAS in my junk mail and have only a couple hours to respond on the IAS website.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions that you may have on how to proceed with this case. Thank you in advance for your help.

The advice is not to bother with the exceedingly biased and non-independent IAS. Certainly never pay the £15 for the special legally binding option that guarantees you will lose.

Plan A was and still is a complaint to the landowner and your MP.

If you have started the IAS process then rebut their claims with your photo and video evidence. If you lose, then ignore anything and everything from then on other than a real court claim.

As above by @Fruitcake and have a thorough read of the Newbies/FAQ thread near the top of the forum where you will learn about the process you are now in and what happens when.

There is no independent appeal and this is not true arbitration.  Should have ignored it and not tried IAS because you will lose.  Ignore G24 after that.   NO PAYING!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
