If I cancel Sky....

I have been with Sky all of my adult bill paying life, and always negotiated a deal at the end of the contract.  I am now thinking of switching to Virgin for the better broadband speeds.

I currently have Sky Signature, Multiroom for one extra room, Sky Broadband Superfas, Netflixt and line .  This will be increased from £61.50 to £74.50 next month.

My options are:

1) Switch to Virgin who have offered me Big Bundle, extra set box, line rental and 125 broadband for £46.99 a month, with a £50 bill credit.

2) Cancel Sky TV and just get a broadband package and use Freeview only

3) See what Sky offer when I cancel.

If I cancel Sky what happens to the programmes I have recorded?  Is the Q box wiped after the 30 days notice?  Asking in case I decide to go with option 2.

Grateful for any advice or opinions - thanks.

You have to give the Q box back unless you want to pay circa £200 for it (not sure of actual price) so it's moot what happens to recordings. They won't be accessible anyway and you can't record anything else I think. Do a factory reset first BTW.

As for the rest, that's up to you as your paying for it.

Personally I'd take the Virgin option or Freeview.
