Help with Click4Reg on a cherished numberplate sale

I'm hoping for some advice, please.
Back in September 2022, I agreed to sell a private registration through the website Click4Reg. We agreed a price and they sent me through some paperwork to agree sale. I sent them the Retention Certificate. Since then they keep telling me they are waiting for the DVLA to process the change of owner before they can pay me.
It's been 6 and a half months and I keep getting the same email back.
I realise that there is a delay with the DVLA at the moment, but this seems like a very lengthy delay and I'm starting to feel a bit nervous as to whether I'm ever going to be paid.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated: should I hold fire or request a refund?

Are you able to confirm with DVLA whether your retention certificate remains valid or has transferred?0

Can't believe I am reading this. I have had the same experience. When I look at reviews on the company, all the good reviews are people who have bought and all the 1 star reviews are people who have struggled to get their money.
I have finally got my money this week, but only after going through the dvla and threatening legal action.
first check online here: https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/
whether your number plate has been assigned to another vehicle.
I have messaged you with further details.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. I sold one through a different company and received payment promptly on 10 January 23.
I can't remember how long there was between sending them the form and getting the payment but it was not very long.0 -
I am having the same issue and the website shows that another vehicle is now registered. Please can you advise what action you took to get money owed? Many thanks0

I phoned the dvla, who said that such a document didn't exist. I called click4reg back with this information. They claimed the dvla consumer facing team often said that because they didn't understand that the trade team used different documents. I said I would take legal action if they didn't pay and they could see if a court believed them. They then miraculously had received the dvla notification and set a payment date 2 weeks ahead.
That date arrived and the money wasn't paid, so I told them I would take legal action if the money wasn't in my account the next day. They said they needed time to look into it and I said I was starting legal action the next day irrespective. They paid up.

Hi there as of December 28th, 2023 they have gone into administration - effectively duping a lot of money from innocent folk who have been waiting for payments since the start of the year.
My 73 year old mum sold my late fathers Registration plate to someone through Click4reg in March and though the plate was on the new owners car by April she still hasn't received payment - several emails and complaints sent and no response at all - kept brushing her off and leaving her waiting, now they have announced the have gone bust.
The owner Mr Elie Gabriel Fakhoury and his wife Vanessa who is office manager seemingly run have several "successful businesses" underFAKHOURY GROUP LIMITED
aspect-county.co.uk/articles/business/elie-fakhoury - here's and article gloating about his lavish lifestyle and success
Which seems to have mostly been made through ripping off poor bereaved pensioners in the last 12 months.
Martins money can you help?

Is it just me but the very cringeworthy name click4reg would make me run a mile.
Probably I'm not the target audience...2 -
It seems I was very lucky to get my money, though it took a lot of effort. Hopefully when the administrator is appointed there will be some funds to pay people what they are owed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards.
