Please can someone help me. I ordered something off Amazon in December 2021 ( yes, you read it right!) but the item didn’t arrive. In January 2022 I was given a refund but this morning ( 4th April 2023, the parcel was delivered!!!!! The postman said our local post office has had its licence suspended so everything was sent back to the depot. The parcel was originally a local collect but they traced it to my address. Do I have to return it after this length of time or can I keep it???
many thanks

Contact Amazon on chat, explain the above and ask along the lines of, "Do I need to return this or may I keep it please?"
As far as the legal answer goes the goods do belong to Amazon and you should take steps to restore the goods, i.e letting them know and offering it for collection. If it was £10 they'll probably say keep it, if it was £1000 they may well want it back, all you can do ask

Legally i think you should at least ask Amazon if they want you to return it.Mitchyp74 said:Please can someone help me. Practically, Amazon have long since forgotten it existed so I probably wouldn't be exerting too much effort to make them aware of its existence3 -
The post office is nothing to do with the postman who delivers your mail - what do you mean by this comment?Mitchyp74 said:The postman said our local post office has had its licence suspended so everything was sent back to the depot.0 -
I don’t believe they’re saying the 2 are connected. This is the likely chain of events…theonlywayisup said:

- Royal Mail delivered to Post Office.
- Post Office has licence revoked for whatever reason and all parcels they hold are returned to Royal Mail.
- Royal Mail trace OP as recipient of this particular parcel and deliver it.3
