I really appreciate the way this goverment does our thinking for us while not bothering to think for itself. I really need to be told how and what to eat and when, don't you? I think I will crochet a welcome mat for the food police  Two more years, two more years,

The trouble is Charis they are all as bad as each other - the Labour Party on the one hand has brought back and increased the National Minimum Wage (brownie point) - on t'other hand has turned us into a Surveillance Society (wasnt it 300 times per day on average we are caught on camera?). The Tories on t'other hand will probably have a go at the NMW and generally "attack" "yer ordinary person in the street" in their own ways - and they both have a tendency to drag us into "yet another.........(expletive deleted) War" at intervals.

ceridwen - don't worry..........I've been called far worse when asking someone to pick up an empty can or two that's been slung in my front garden or down my drive on the way back to school. Thankfully it hasn't happened lately-hope I haven;t spoken too soon !

As for the Surveillance Society we live in..........,while I don't like the fact we seem to live in a society where every move seems to be monitored I'm grateful for the fact it just might help our local bobbies to catch the 'it wasn't me' brigade when local shop windows get smashed or something worse happens............and who knows, it might just deter a few 'would be hoodlums'............I hope.

As for my day..........should have been a meeting of minds (for want of a better name) here at lunchtime ..........much hoovering and dusting was going on this morning...........meeting then cancelled ! Still, a little bit of housework got done plus two people turned up who hadn''t been told of the cancellation ! So, all was not wasted effort and I must admit I gave myself a pat on the back for clearing the kitchen table of 'stuff' that had accumulated over the weekend.
Have to add ........Id just tidied up the front room and loand behold, new mattress was delivered for one of the boys (I'd forgotten about that) OH was out so the picture of my nice tidy front room was marred by a bloomin' great mattress -nowhere else to put it and the front room leads straight onto the street !.................now our lad is home, mattress will be taken upstairs and the old one goes to the tip in the morning along with two broken teles..........so, bit more out of the way.

lol. I have reached a point when I can`t simplify the fact that I have no more storage and now have a bike in the kitchen. My new bike and it`s electric so I`ll be able to tackle all the hills around here, starting tomorrow when I am off to the hairdressers 6 miles away. I`ll still be pedalling but I`ll be getting a push up the hills. I`ll just have to pretend it`s a bit of decoration :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

kittie - lucky you, getting an electric bike ! Think thats the only way I'd manage anything that wasn't on a level...................lol

shaz - thanks for the link. Interesting site.........will have a good read later.

Strange day.............OH had some work this morning - I went shopping, got back, packed some cards up to send to mums care home, our young lad came back from school.........then phone call after blessed phone call............soc.worker calling later to take him for contact visit, the older lads soc.worker calling at 5.30pm another one wants to call tomorrow afternoon to discuss older lad's future...............he's not far off being 18, the usual cut off point for these kids but we've been told by yet another worker that he will be allowed to stay with us post 18.
Cross wires, lack of communication or something but the other soc. workers don't seem to be aware of it, take not much notice when I mention it and still say he should 'move on'.........................nothing doing !

Racking my brain now on what sort of card to make for son's 40th birthday...........little grey cells have stopped working temprarily.
Had every intention of attempting a silly drawing for ex foster lads birthday card (two weeks away !!)............brain won't work for that either -seems whatever I was going to do today has to be shelved until tomorrow.........you know, that day that never comes...............

Not quite as wonderful as Kittie's electric bike, but I've finally given up having my own car (still have to have one in the household, as hubby works 31 miles away). Anyway, I now have a mobility scooter. It makes sense; I only ever go to very local places on my own (GP surgery mainly), and couldn't do anything much if I went, as I can't walk any distance, and can't lug the wheelchair in and out of the car myself.

We traded in both our ancient motors that were going to cost a fortune to get fixed, and Mr LameWolf now drives to work in a Honda Jazz - smaller that both the old cars, but still big enough to take my wheelchair, and our luggage if we go away.:T

I don't drive so we've just got the one car......Toyata Carina.....bought for £200 some years back now.Served us well but currently sitting in the drive.Till OH's workshops been re-built out of town he doesn't need to drive anywhere. I'd happily get rid of it and told him to get a bike (he was not impressed !!) With the price of petrol at the minute its cheaper for me to travel on public transport.(being older has its perks -bus pass!).........trouble is, some places like visiting both my sons, there isn't a bus route without touring the countryside everywhere and taking all day, train fares are so expensive (I can ever work out how to get a cheap ticket)...Luckily most of what we need/want we can get in out little market town plus I'm a great one for supporting local shops.........would hate to see the day when there were none !
Reminder came today for car tax..........MOT due this month..........the expense just goes on and on. If the MOT doesn't look good then we'd be better off taking the car to the scrapyard and as for buying another......well,that would be a no-go at the minute.
Oh dear...........I'm starting to sound glum -I'll shut up....................
