Michefaz said:FIP treatment in cats is in its infancy. My cat had FIP with neurological involvement and this factor was missed by my vet as he hadn't read my cat's previous notes. So he under-dosed my cat. He gave him 15mg/kg, when the recommended dose for neurological involvement is 20mg/kg.
This is the problem, it is only a recommended dose. Anyway, my cat has relapsed and thousands of pounds later, I've realised this issue. And I have raised my concerns with the vet, but their response is inaction. Ignoring my emails and phone calls. Meanwhile, my little cat is dying.
I have just suggested they re-treat at their cost, while I pay for the extra 5mg/kg which he should have received initially had his notes been read.
I realise this is negligence, but there is so much uncertainty about this GS-445... treatment. And I don't think you ever win. I really can't afford another £5k to heal my little cat and am at my wit's end.0 -
That poster hasn't logged in since September so may well not be around to answer your question. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
