Hi,
I've had Sky BB for a week or two now and all was fine until the last few days when I have been having problems. Everytime I open up explorer i get a message box appear which says the following:
"The server www.whateverthesiteaddressis.co.uk at DSL Router requires a username and password.
Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection)."
If i try and cancel out of the box i get a message in explorer on a black background which says in red type:
401 Unauthorized
Authorization Required
It almost sounds like some sort of phishing scam as i dont have any username and password for my connection as its on all the time. Also it asks for"authentication" no matter which website i visit and then locks up with the above 401 message if i dont provide it.
Help - this is driving me nuts!

Sky users have a community support site/forum here:

Your username/password for a sky connection are normally programmed into your router/modem. They exist, but under normal circumstances you never get to see them.
(BTW, links in signatures are not allowed unless you have permission from the forum admins. Probably best to remove it before the admins do. And yes, mine do have permission.)Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks for your reply, I've posted my problem on the Sky board. With regards to the signiture I didn't realize you needed permission. Could I request that any administrator who reads this let me know if I can have permission or not and I will remove it if necessary.
