Adapting a flue on cooker hood

Hello , looking for some help please. Our range cooker (90cm) is now under a steel beam, my quick measurements show I have 14 cm beside the beam for the flue, I reckon it may be ok slightly off centre so could go to 15 or 16 cm I reckon but can't find anything. And there are no budget friendly side flue versions. Can the flue be adapted- downsized so starts wide (they seem to be around 20ish cm ) and then get narrow as gets to beam, or can we buy a kit that bends the flue so it goes up, across then up

If you run 204x60mm rigid ducting across the ceiling and then down the side of the beam, that should clear. Use a 125mm round to rectangular adaptor for the final connection to the hood.

Thanks I think I get it, is that for external extraction? As we were going to have recirculation. But its good to know we could get ducting and maybe just make it connect?

If you can, it is far better to have the hood extracting to the outside rather than recirculating. It helps to clear the air of steam and smells, as well as being a Building Regulation requirement (if you are doing a full refurbishment of the kitchen).
