Changing our car next week. Is there any really easy way to remove the tags off the windscreen? Have heard that a hairdryer does the trick but we don’t possess one

Why not leave it on there? They serve no purpose now.

The tag itself should be clipped into a holder, so you could remove the tag and leave the holder behind.
The holder is stuck onto the screen by a sticky foam pad.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

Ectophile, I’d removed the actual tags from the holders, just wondered if there was an easy way to remove the holders. Guess I’ll just have to request replacements.
@ Toomanypoints, they serve no purpose?

Not as far as I know. Dart Tags were introduced in around 2010 and equipment at the crossing detected the tags as vehicles passed so as to debit the Dart Tag account. Separate lanes were provided at the toll plaza for Dart Tag users. The Dart Tag device "bleeped" as it passed the equipment. However, in 2014 the charging system was converted to an ANPR system and the toll booths and barriers removed. Dart Tag accounts were closed or converted to Dart Charge accounts. My Dart Tag still bleeped for a while after this, though I noticed about a year ago that this no longer happens.

Thank you for that. We don’t use the Dartford Crossing very often nowadays but had noticed that the tag was no longer bleeping; because of that I always checked my account to ensure we’d paid.
Perhaps I won’t have to get a new holder after all.
Will just have to get one for Emovis as I’m sure they’re still operative in France
