Paid holiday balance a day late

After paying off our mortgage we decided to go on our first expensive holiday. It was a £500 deposit with the remainder at a later date.
I was expecting an email to give instructions on paying the remainder nearer the date but that never happened. After the email didn't arrive I went back to my booking page which had a make payment button on there so that's what I did. It was however a day later than it was due. Nothing saying I'm late or anything. Everything now looking OK on my booking page.
When searching about holiday companies not sending payment reminders I've discovered that they don't do this as a rule and reserve the right to cancel the holiday if we don't pay on time and retain our deposit.
Given all the other emails I get from them, the only logical reason I can think of for them not sending a payment reminder is to bank on the fact people will forget to pay and it's an easy £500 for them. I'm worried they're now going to cancel our holiday.
Should I be worried or should I be OK now I've paid in full with no indication yet that they intend to cancel?

I hope all is well for you, personally I'd phone them for confirmation.
I've just looked up my booking for October, and the final payment date is outlined in a box on the confirmation email, I'd already put it in my diary. I'll be interested to see if I do receive a reminder to pay.£216 saved 24 October 20140 -
Which tour operator have you booked with ?

I doubt there will be any problem, but it's worth checking with the holiday provider if you can get through. Who was the holiday booked through. Not sending a reminder is unlikely to be viewed by them as a way to get easy money, they are more likely to expect people to take responsibility for their booking.

I should forget the dramatic conspiracy theories.
Make the payment and call them when they open to check all okay. Sure it will be fine if just a day late.
Next time, record important things like payment dates on a calendar or in your diary. Look to avoid these errors on your part in future.3 -
I have 2 holiday bookings, 1 with hoseasons the other with a hire boat company , and when booking I ticked a box to say they could take payment automatically when balance was due.
takes the worry out of missing a deadline0
