A J Bell charges confusion

I’ll investigate this. When Dodl first launched I enquired & they said no.masonic said:
You should now be able to as both AJ Bell brands will accept transfers from over 40s.The two funds in my LISA are also available on Dodl so would be perfect for me.Edit: all sorted. New LISA opened & cash transfer instructed. Not a fan of inspecie transfers taking weeks, and I doubt a couple of weeks out of the market will matter in 19 years time.1 -
Thanks all. I have a teachers pension. I have currently accrued 10k at 60 and the rest that I'm building up I will get at 68 (due to legacy arrangements). I have made overpayments in the past. But I assumed a LISA would be a no brainer as I will be probably be paying tax on my pension? With a SIPP there is no employer contribution so surely a LISA wins over a vanguard sipp for example?
With my husband we have a large mortgage of around £300k set to run for 33 years more. I am trying to get the mortgage down using savings products. This is my priority (suggested by people on here before). I suppose that's why I have kept the LISA contribution low.
I feel bad though because I set my husband up with the same LISA with AJ Bell so I feel like he's losing out because of me.
I think when I originally set up my LISA it was around 2018 so it was AJ Bell or HL so I'm guessing thats why I thought AJ Bell was a good idea similarly to the poster above.
I will try to move our accounts to dodl if they do vanguard VLS 80 or similar.
Thank you all.
I wonder if HL will accept transfers in in the future. Feels like they are not keen on Lisa's.0 -
Dodl do Vanguard 40, 60 & 80 Lifestrategy funds. The two funds in my AJ Bell LISA are the HSBC World Index fund & L&G Global Tech index fund, both of which are also on Dodl.I currently only pay my regular investment into the HSBC fund to avoid incurring 2x £1.50 charges a month. Moving to Dodl now will mean I can split my regular investments between the two.Still waiting to see how the Dodl regular investments work yet. AJ Bell was rather odd with it’s once a month buy regardless of when the DD collects. Although that worked well for the government bonus landing and all of it investing together.1

But with minimum of £1 pm.Sarahspangles said:
I've just noticed that Dodl's charge is 0.15% for the platform fee compared to 0.25% for AJ Bell'sAlbermarle said:Not sure anybody has actually mentioned this but as well as the £1.50 dealing charge, AJ Bell charge a platform fee of 0.25% on all funds on the platform.
Most platforms do something similar . Some with a higher platform charge, do not charge for buying funds, so swings and roundabouts.
Dodl and Vanguard have low fees and do not charge for buying funds. However they have a restricted range of investments available.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True
