Over many decades we have had just about every type of picture and frame hung in bathrooms and ensuites and never had any problems with any of them.

We have however always had and used extractor fans and have ensured that the rooms are warm in winter to avoid excessive condensation.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

We have a small print in a wood frame with glass.  Our bathroom gets very steamy and damp.  The print is just outside the tiled zone for the over-bath shower.  It's been there for perhaps 15 years and has suffered no harm whatsoever.

A poster is not art. It is a copy, divergent from the original by who knows how many faults and poor practices in the process of copying.

Only the original is art. No, not even a 'limited edition' print qualifies. What you have is no better, in essence, than wallpaper.
  • I think plastic is recommended rather than glass as it would be safer if it were knocked and fell - could be nasty over a bath for example.
I've put up posters in the bathroom, glued the plastic to the frame to seal and used duct tape on the back to keep out the moisture.

So would you say all those wonderful posters from cinemas that people have collected over the decades and give a insight into the aspirations of the viewing public are not art.

I would imagine some wallpaper is collectable for similar reasons.

I have to agree with others here. I have several vintage film posters that are from the original release and I consider art. There are also other film posters that I would love to own but can’t afford the many hundreds of pounds they are worth.
