School Trip Insurance

I’m about to pay a deposit for an expensive school trip for my child.

I understand the school will have insurance for the trip (I will check). But will this cover not being able to go because of medical reasons before the trip?

  • You need to check that out with the school on the terms and conditions of the group policy.

Check with the school but I doubt it.

In my experience it does cover cancellation due to medial issues. The only problem might be an undisclosed pre-existing condition, which would of course not be covered by standard travel insurance. So if your child does have such a condition, you'd need to inform the school AND insist on confirmation that they have informed the travel company the school has booked with.
