Gripfill, I’ve never been a lover of it, I’d use a hybrid sealant/adeshive. No need on the arcs, just pin and chalk. If using mdf a small pilot hole to stop it splitting if pinning near the edgesA thankyou is payment enough .1

plumb1_2… so strange you mention pinning near the edges. Was just about to post on here about it!
Rather than using a pilot hole and pin, I was thinking of using a pilot hole and these Spax MDF screws (as hopefully can pull tighter, and also less chance of splitting maybe?)
EDIT: Sorry, to stop any confusion, I mean using these only on the mitres! For going from MDF to the lining, I would be using 40mm panel pins

I wouldn’t use screws on the mitre , pins and glue/adhesive. Just fix from the top.A thankyou is payment enough .1
