Reclaim Tax PPI

I hope that someone out there can offer me some help/advice as I'm just at a loss of what to do now.
Nov '22 I took a phone call for my hubby and ended up talking to them myself regarding Tax on PPI. I stupidly got drawn into it at first, but couldn't recall any of the info they asked so the advisor and myself agreed it wouldnt be taken any further. A second person the valled me back and i got a bit annoyed with him and again said that we had agreed its not to be taken further. Then in Feb I had letters from HMRC saying that they owed me £1030.11 and they had sent it to Reclaim Tax PPI. I've tried contacting this company, but they don't answer the phones and aren't responding to my emails. I reported them to the FCA, but had no response from them either. I called HMRC who confirmed everything and posted me out the R40 form that they were sent. I can't recall signing paperwork, but it could be my signature on it. They have copied and pasted it though 8 times in total. They gave an incorrect date of birth and also put my yearly pay on the form, which is completely fabricated. I've called Action Fraud - who declined help and really don't know what to do next. I'm so upset by it all and the people who are meant to be there to help just don't seem to give a dam. I would be so grateful for any advice given.

Not surprising. The FCA aren't a consumer organisation.
Go to the Legal Ombudsman.

Thank you so much, will give them a try first thing Monday. How these rip off merchants think it's OK to just keep people's money is beyond me.0
