Ebay issue

At this point I have only messaged the seller to see how they want to deal with this issue
I bought an item on Ebay a few days ago for around £70. It was the package was delivered today but the padded envelope had been slit open at one side and the item was missing.
Anyone know what happens with this normally ? Never had an issue before.
Thanks

The issue is if parcel tracks to delivery any INR case will be closed in sellers favour. The only real way to deal with this is to phone ebay and keep trying them until they can see the issue, you will need to base your comments on how helpful seller is as most will want to protect their accounts first and then help the buyer.MattMattMattUK said:

If a package arrives empty or was damaged in transit, the buyer should accept the delivery and report that the item doesn't match the listing.
So open a return request OP

I think that a "significantly not as described" case would be the better option in this situation.https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy/ebay-money-back-guarantee-policy?id=4210
