    ..
It is a high spec Denon 2900 Universal player originally retailing for £850.

I didn’t buy it new in case you think I am boasting. :D

I paid £180 for it about 18 months ago.

what i meant was, if the seller has informed you of their bankruptcy a few years ago and money problems now, then maybe they should stick to a £14 dvd player from asda.

Just to note, If the buyer is offering you the Final Value Fee's & you then accept them eBay will not also refund them & the buyer will not get a strike.

I would accept & file a mutual agreement not to proceed.

Can I clarify what you are refunded into your account from an unpaid item dispute closed in your favour (or a mutual agreement not to complete the sale).....The fees refunded are the final value fees only. The initial listing fee is NOT refunded, be it basic listing or any upgrades. If the item has only been listed once then it qualifies for a listing fee credit should it resell (again any upgrades are not refunded).

As I understand from this thread the buyer is offering to pay the listing fees. This is as someone else pointed out a risk, as you risk the item not selling again or selling for a smaller amount, that is why under such circumstances I wouldn't agree to a mutual, you do other sellers a misservice by allowing such a buyer not to receive a strike.
