British Gas sent me a pre payment card
Yesterday we received a pre payment card in the post with no warning or prior discussion. Not sure why we paid the bill 2 weeks ago and asked if we could go on a monthly DD. We did get a new meter in January after it wasn’t giving correct reads. We did report this several times before they would listen so I assume they must think we tampered with the meter as our bill one month was very low but at this point we had only just moved in. What are your thoughts are they likely to change their mind, we have started a switch to octopus but I’m worried our energy will stop if they want us in a prepayment but our account is up to date and in credit.

I'm not sure what's in it for the energyco, as the DD schemes are pre-payment setups anyway.

They never send a bill you have to ask for one each time feeling very frustrated0

Did the card not come with a letter explaining the meter had be put into prepayment mode and the reason why?
