Loads of options and sellers on Amazon and eBay.  Just place the size you want in the search bar - and also check the size under each listing.

The small easyJet/Ryanair/Wizzair cabin bag that you get included now is pretty small, especially if you're thinking of going for a cabin wheel suitcase type. There are cabin suitcases available that meet the dimensions but by the time the frame/wheels/handles are taken into account it doesn't leave much packing space.

Personally when I'm going with the smallest hand bag I'll take a rucksack or small duffle bag.

There are virtually no proper cases that fit the new underseat Easyjet sizes, it's barely bigger than a decent size backpack. Wherever you buy from check the measurements yourself, don't rely on an advert . We tend to use easyjet a lot and there are often quite a few arguments at the gate where cases won't fit due to wheels or a rigid frame, backpacks and soft bags can often be squashed into the measuring box to comply.

Make sure you also check what you are allowed, on our last flight 2 couples had  little cases, one couple were allowed to board with cases but the other couple weren't as they had booked standard seats so could only take underseat items, whereas their friends have bought the expensive seats that allowed a proper carry on bag.

Don't forget as well that if any of you have long legs that it is seriously going to impact on your leg room.  Remember also to leave room in it to quickly pop any handbag or other small bag in it just to get past the staff at the gates.

That is a good point, however I have now taken to popping my CabinMax into the first available overhead locker as I make my way down the plane. Never had the flight crew question me yet!
It very much depends on which route is travelled I suspect.  I tend to stick to the full planes going to tourist spot type routes, where so many people pay the extra for an onboard case that the overhead bins get full very quickly with the paid for bags.

I ended up taking a 20L kids backpack, not realising the straps were child sized, wasn't a good journey!

So do many VFR routes. An October Luton-Iasi probably being the tightest for overhead bin space and an early December Stansted-Katowice being the best (but the plane couldn't really be qualified as full).

Any rucksack should do this. Mine fits perfectly the Wizz/Easyjet/Ryanair dimensions with a laptop and clothing.

There was something that was recommended for Ryanair in the press a few weeks ago, Easyjet's bag limits are a few cm larger, so it may be worth finding the article and giving that a go.

I think (but can't remember) it was the one linked here. That should go nicely under the seat in front.

Yeah if it's the small underseat bag limit then a rucksack is my preference.

Be careful buying cheaper bags as they can be a false economy. Last two big trips I've gone on now I've used a cheapo wheeled bag that I picked up a few of a while back. Both times the long handle has come off leaving me with a rather awkward and heavy handbag to carry. Definitely a case of buy cheap buy twice on those ones although they're too big for most of the new limits now anyway so not a huge loss

In case it's helpful I have bought this for our next trip:
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08C51M7SK

It's very lightweight and roomy, I got the one with a shoulder strap as well in case of need.

I think they are the ideal type of thing for going under a seat as they can be squashed a bit if necessary.
