An old PPI
Options
I have received an email from a company brunel franklin from a ppi they claimed for me back in 2016 the ppi money was kept by the bank to pay pay of the arrears now the company have emailed again after years wanting there fee ...i did not see many of the emails as they went in spam from what i have seen. My situation then was dyer and it is still dyer now....i am worried they will sell the debt to bailiffs or the like and double it. My question is what will they do and what can i do as i cant afford it
....Thanks in advance

When was the complaint upheld and what previous requests did you receive for the fee?
And why did you use a company to complain when you had arrears with your lender?0 -
Bailiffs do not buy debts, although debts can be sold to debt purchasing companies, they cannot add fee`s or interest to these type of debts.
If you cannot afford to pay this, simply write and tell them so, making sure to enclose a copy of your budget showing you have no room to pay this.
You can also argue that the time to collect this debt has now passed, generally creditors have six years to claim payment of a simple contract debt, those 6 years have elapsed in this case, and the debt would appear to be statute barred under sec 5, limitation act 1980.
