Eon next direct debit

Good Evening
Since the energy support scheme started in October my monthly direct debit was reduced by the £67 I assumed at some point this month with the scheme ending my payment amount would be reassessed and increased accordingly
I’ve had notification of my April payment due to be taken next week and it’s still at the reduced rate probably a silly question but do I go online and increase the amount myself?

Same boat as you and it seems many Eon Next customers our £177.70 was reduced to £110. We know our best years usage should work out at £150 per month so that's what we will ask Eon Next to set it to.
So you know your yearly usage close enough to work it out?0 -
I was just going to put the amount back up £67 if I’m honest2

I wonder if the have forgotten how they chose to implement it. Could end up putting people behind on their payments.0

My letter dated about 1 week before the Mar DD taken. On my notice of new charges - ( I had to log in and download it - I didn't get it by e-mail) it did notify me of a revised DD amount. And that now shows in my on-line account for next DD - but for me thats end of Apr. End of Mar taken couple of days ago - was normal old-£67My DD isn't going back up to the level pre the EBSS £67 discount for 6 months - but it is changing. To run down some credit - couple of hundred - generated over last 12 months. So paying less than new annual estimate / 12.The only thing on my mind - is whether to request the rebate now - and pay more - or just let credit tick down slowly. At the moment - there's another price cut forecast for July - so see no reason to up the DD right now though - as it might need to drop by July anyway.

If it worked as it should then your DD's should not have changed/reduced back in October. The DD should have been the same as before then the £66/£67 would be sent back to your bank as a credit.
Check your bank statements. Now that the scheme has ended your DD should be the same but you won't get the £67 refunded.
Of course it won't be quite the same because the rates change again on 1st April, and although prices per kWh go down the standing charge for electricity goes up by about 18%.PS. Your energy statements fr the past 6 months may look confusing - it may look as if they have not credited the £66/£67 amounts but only the DD amount left after that £66/£67 has been refunded.
That's because it's actually taken off the amount owing before it gets to the DD payment/refund stage.
It took me a while to work it out, look further down the statement and you can see it being taken off the amount due. It's a bit complicated to follow but it does work out correctly.0 -
I am with Eon and was paying £111.48 with the £67 discount applied however I have logged into Eon and have seen my DD has gone upto £175.82 from 28th April.
Should this not be standard for everyone? Bit surprising to see that some Eon customers are not having their DD's adjusted?0 -

It's a bit complicated to follow but it does work out correctly.EOn didn't do it that way - there were differences between suppliers and within suppliers depending on payment method. The OP was correct - EOn did reduce the DD amount if greater than the £67 EBSS offset. From what I have seen - EOn were perhaps one of the clearer formats for billing over this period - certainly for DD.1 -
I'm not with Eon so I don't know how it works but something feels wrong
I'm with Octopus and I decided my own DD of £100 which they agree to and it won't go up in April
I check my meter readings every week and add it to my spread sheet which tells me my usage and costs before I send them to Octopus at the end of the month.
My new rates with Octopus are slightly higher and I will be paying £13 per year more from April0 -

Bit surprising to see that some Eon customers are not having their DD's adjusted? As others have posted - there may be changes - and it may not be being applied right away - even if is.My calc was produced at least 5 days before the Mar payment - but it stuck ot old DD-£67 - for Mar - and like you changes for the end of Apr.Others with an early payment date - are being told - it will now be e.g. May.PS Thats not exactly £67 - so I assume you have also been notified on your tariff price change letter - of the DD amendment - if not fixed etcThere was even one MSE'r who went in and manually set his DD during the switch to £67 discount - and it stuck at that manual level iirc.0
