Safety alert - "Easee" wall chargers for electric cars

Hybrids seem to have typical ranges of 30-40 miles, battery capacity about 12kwh. Using a standard 3 pin socket to charge at about 10 Amps, this would take about 5 hours from zero to full. So leaving it plugged in overnight means a full charge easily enough. I doubt it wuold be worth installing a 30 Amp (7kw) charging unit as time to charge isn't really an issue.Having said that I don't see the point of hybrids really, you're carrying around two engines - extra weight and more things to go wrong. And the cost of electricity isn't that much less than the cost of petrol per mile of travel at the moment.
