I was/am a single parent & claiming the 25% council tax single person discount when my son was a child, now he is 18 I guess I need to let the local council know, my query is that he is on a government apprenticeship scheme & earning a pittance, does anyone know if I can still get the 25% discount as I have seen differing information on my web search? Any help from those in the know would be greatly received 🙏

People on apprentice schemes
To show that you do not qualify as an adult for Council Tax, you’ll need a declaration from your employer stating that:
- you will not be paid more than £195 a week
- the training leads to a qualification accredited by a body recognised by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) or the Scottish Vocational Education Council (SVEC)

the government website states those "certain apprentice schemes" may be disregared
you would be best to check your local councils website for clarification0
