New Car (Dacia Sandero Stepway) service plan not transferable?

Hi all!

I bought a brand new Dacia Sandero Stepway 28th April 2022 (via personal loan from bank, paid Dacia/Renault dealer via card).

I paid £489 on top for 3 services. I received no paperwork, the only thing I have is on my car purchase invoice a line for "RUK First 3 years Dacia Service plan".

On the 4th of Feb 2023, the car was smashed into and written off.

Insurance paid out for the car only - the service plan isn't covered (fair enough)
Bought another new car - like for like - and offered the same service plan. Asked to transfer the one I had, dealer said no it isn't their plan, ask Renault/Dacia direct to transfer it as it was their service plan or maybe my solicitor from the crash to claim for it.
Solicitors said no, outside of scope of the court (fair enough)
Renault / Dacia say it isn't transferable.

At no point did the salesman say it wasn't transferable, nobody sent me any paperwork to confirm my plan, what is covered/not covered etc (when I rang Renault they had no record of it, so I think a mix up between dealer & Renault somewhere and they needed me to photo the invoice and send it over to them)

Renault have offered me a £50 discount voucher on the cars 1st service in March 2024.

Any suggestions? Is there an ombudsman I can speak to? Seems daft you can't transfer it in the case of an accident (especially one that wasn't your fault!)

I think to go back to your car insurer and ask them to pursue the value of the service plan remaining as a loss to be recovered from the third party, especially as the accident was not your fault.

Thanks for that. Do you have a link or something? As I wrote, I have no paperwork, wasn't told (as it was sold at checkout as it where) so I got nothing.

It's OK found it in the small print on the website, cheers.

Annoying they never mentioned it in the showroom and then didn't send me any paper to advise me.
