I have now finally moved into my nice house but have been informed by the neightbours that over the past few weeks gradually, each of the houses are having the decorative lead flasing over the top of the bay windows pinches.
You can't have anything
So before the little gits make a mess of my roof I am wanting to have it taken off and replaced. Now hubby says to have it capped in plain UPVC but I like the decorative effect over the window. Does anyone know of an alternative I could have???
I'm trying to source this before we decided that there is nothing else but to have it capped off. - such a shame

Can you just paint it so it looks like it's been nicked/replaced?0

PVC doesn't have to be plain. It comes in a variety of colours and you can get wood grain effect too. I paid £16-17 for 5m length of brown bargeboard.
Can you treat the flashing with something horrible and sticky to deter vandals?0 -
I can't really paint it to hide it as it has some fancy cut design on it. If I spoil it so that it puts people off I might as well just cap it off as it would look ugly any way. I just thought someone might know of an on-line supplier that might do fancy PVC trim. I have had a look and can't find anything.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0

It's the lead that does the job it's intended for. There can't be that much of a market for fancy plastic to cover something (more attractive) that does the job for which it is intended.
You sure it's not just fanned to meet the mortar joints? I can't think of what fancy trim would look likeEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided
#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now
#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing0 -

I have seen sheet copper used on roofs but I guess you might have the same problem as with the lead.... and that decorative lead flashing may not just be decorative its used to waterproof joints where bays and roofs and walls meet...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
