Still waiting PIP review.

I submitted my PIP renewal form in December. I spent over an hour on the phone today to be told my case is still in a queue and hasn’t even been assigned to a case handler!
I am becoming increasingly concerned because my Blue badge is due for renewal in September & my Motability lease runs out. Now I know my lease can be extended and I could apply and go for an assessment for a blue badge, however this is ridiculous. If they’re unable to process the reviews why are they doing them!
Not to mention the anxiety that waiting for the decision causes for me and I’m sure many others.

One thing you could try is asking for a letter to show the current end date of your award - it is very possible they've extended it and just not let you know, due to the backlog.
If that's the case, it may help for Motability, and with the Blue Badge depending on the extension length you might get one for until the extended award, or it might just be evidence towards not needing to assess you physically because the only reason you don't have a new award is DWP backlog and not your disability improving.0 -
There's extremely long delays with PIP reviews and your timescale up to now hasn't been very long at all. You could be in for a very very long wait.
