Help dealing with DWP and Debt agency

My son has been told he has been overpaid JSA and they are demanding it back via the debt agency. He had responded to their initial letter explaining he had given them all the correct information when he found a job and stopped claiming. He had no response until the debt agency contacted him. So he's in dispute with them but them have not responded to his letters and it seems impossible to speak on phone with anyone. He now lives abroad which adds further complication. What should he do now? He has until the end of April. Thanks for any advice. It's very frustrating when you cannot speak to someone.

If he lives abroad there isn't much the DWP or debt management can really do unless he returns to the UK to live and work. When the DWP is non-responsive, which is the usual case, this then the best bet is contacting your local MP as the DWP tend to pay attention to letters addressed from the houses of parliament.
