End of Virgin free super balance transfer facility

I contacted Virgin credit card centre by phone 4 times this morning.
I was told each time by different person that a 2% of balance upto a max of £35 fee would be charged for a super balance transfer into my bank account if I opened a 9 month interest free introductory rate credit card. I understand that this has been implemented over the last few weeks.
As a result does anyone know of a credit card offering 9 month interest free with no charge for a super balance transfer facility?

I did an SBT on Sunday which went through on the account yesterday, 14 June - no charges applied, as confirmed by the person on the phone that I dealt with.

Bear in mind that an "SBT" is not a term that the Credit card companies recognise, it was coined by Martin ( I think) to describe the process.

All you need to do is to ask for a Balance Transfer to a bank account. Then they ask for the sort code and account number and it gets done. Ask for their name, get them to confirm there are no charges. Also, you only have to pay a minimum amount of £5 per month.

The number to call is the same one you use to activate the card.
    Not even wrong
  • I have phoned Virgin credit cards & applied for a new 9 month interest free balance transfer credit card. They still insist that a balance transfer from the new card into my bank account will be subject to a 2% min. max £35 per transaction. It does not matter what you call it. (balance transfer, SBT etc)
Despite having to pay the £35 charge for a £6000 transfer I will still make about £115 on the deal from interest on the money deposited in a high interest savings account.
It seems that Virgin have applied the fee to new 9 month interest free balance transfer credit card applications.
