melitta coffee machine just out of warranty.

I purchased a Melitta coffee machine from Amazon (costing £1k)  in November 2020, which came with a 2 year warranty. The machine developed a fault and I had to seek a replacement in jan 2021, the replacement arrived in February and has now packed up altogether (searching the fault on line it appears it's a known, well documented fault).
I contacted Melitta to try and get a fix for the fault and unfortunately what they recommended didn't work, so I sent them copies of receipts/replacement dates etc as requested, but they are refusing to repair it as it is now out of warranty and that the warranty is from the purchase date and not the date of my receiving the replacement machine (which would have been just inside the 2 years)
Anyone any info on how best to pursue it? I've mentioned the consumers act of 2015, but fell on deaf ears.
Thanks
Mick

Your Consumer Rights are against the retailer , not the manufacturer
  • As above, your complaint is against whoever you bought it from, not against Melitta.

As it's more than six months after purchase, you will need to gather evidence to present to the seller showing that the machine was inherently faulty when you bought it. (It's a bit more complicated than that but I'll let others get stuck into that discussion...)

Agree with the advice above, and can confirm that it's pretty normal for warranties to not reset when a replacement is provided.

Was the purchase for private or business purposes?  £1,000.00 seems unusually steep for a domestic coffee maker.  Melitta do make machines that expensive, however they look more like the sort of thing one would find in a coffee shop.
