    Indeed it's wise to be cautious. Like Freebear I seem to have the mains electric from a street light to my own meter (set in concrete) just a few inches under soil.
    Quite a conundrum when I was first creating a garden there and had to be treated with circumspection.

    I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

    Good job you don't need to cover a cable with slabs; we had drainage pipes running across our garden, in a hot summer you could always see where these were as the ground dried out quicker and we got visible dry lines.
