setting up a website to gain from affiliate referrals

Options
I have a vast knowledge in 2 sectors where I reckon I could set up informative websites with good advice and hopefully getting decent traffic. I would like to make a bit of cash through referrals. I have checked out the companies concerned and they do it via buy.at and dgmaffiliates.com. Does anyone have advice on doing this? will I be allowed to have sites discussing these products and their benefits with referral links on them? has anyone worked with buy.at or dgmaffiliates.com before? any general advice?

  • Both Buy.at and DGM are respected affiliate networks and I can see no problem with doing what you suggest. I've worked with both companies in the past as an affiliate and never had any problems with them.

Both networks allow direct linking to individual products for many of their merchants, in addition to general text links and banner links. Although in your case, it might be best to avoid banner links as they may detract from the content of your site.

If you want more info then feel free to PM me.

    Hi

At both DGM and Buy.at if a merchant has specific terms and conditions of link placement, terms that can and cannot be used etc then it is stated by the merchant. All this info is available in the merchants management area of each buy.at and dgm sites

Before you even buy a domain name and start working on the site read up on everything to do with owning, running and tweaking a website. There is alot to know and its too late when you have sandboxed your new shiney website to say "I should have learnt more"

I know Save a lot is good at the affiliate sites and I run a travel website. If you need help just send a pm!

Dont forget though.......... Anyone can build a website and if your start looking you will see millions of rubbish sites. Google "Made for adsense" and you will find them!

Take your time, learn CSS, a touch of Javascript and take your styling ques from sites like https://www.confused.com and https://www.aspro.co.uk

Learn about link swaping too and start a directory on your site. Swap a few links every day and it will build up as your site becomes larger.
  • I have registered a domain name & would like to build a website for my small business but do not know where to start. Can anyone recommend an easy to use package for this purpose? Many thanks.

if you want to sell online don't put barriers up like payment by cheque etc else the visitor to your site will move on and buy from the next craft website that will take payment online.. that is just the way people browse the net, it is convenience that people want
