IFA - Fisher Investments?

Hi all,  I’ve got to a point where I think it would be sensible to have an IFA taking some control over some things in my life, pensions, ISAs, tax shelters, insurances etc

I recently downloaded a fisher investments document which then led to them contacting me and I’ve had a couple of meetings with them now.  I’ve just given them the LOA to speak to my pension provider but I’ve just started doing a bit of research into them and their reviews are terrible.  Does anyone know much about them?

I also had a meeting with a local IFA who I got on amazingly well with so I’m leaning towards him.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I was getting loads of adverts for Fisher popping up on my social media and Google searches, they were very persistent and from the info they gave I can see why the reviews are so poor. Beware that some of the reviews do also seem to be for scam companies unrelated to Fisher claiming they can recover funds lost.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

There are much better experts on IFAs on here than me but to the best of my knowledge they are an FA rather than IFA. They are independent in certain senses but not the same as an IFA

Fisher investments are not IFAs.  The are restricted FAs of their own investments.

So, that would rule out Fisher investments then.

I'd say that if you get on well with the local IFA, use them, you'll get better service. No idea about the relative costs of each, but Fisher have spent money sending me post and hitting me with online ads in the past, which of course has to be paid for!

But... if you're happy with everything Fisher does then you could consider them, wait and see what they come up with?

Fisher are well known in the US for expensive and restrictive investments, they are not an IFA!!!! I would avoid them or anyone using their name. If you go with them they will take lots of your money and you will only have yourself to blame.

I would avoid Fisher Investments, try find an IFA (independent financial advisor).
