Help for replacing a very old boiler?

I'm asking on behalf of my son. He has a very old boiler (20 years + not condenser, or even combi) He's got low income household (2 kids under 10) but just too much income to get any benefits such as housing or UC. Have a look at BG local hero portal, a installer will come and give you a quote, it may be slightly dearer than going direct to a local installer as they will have to give BG a finders fee ( for want of a better description )
Going through the local hero portal gives you a BG guarantee and access to any promotions going.
