Cold Call Sale to Elderly Relative - Cancelling the order

Consider downloading their website using an app like httrack - then you have evidence of their money back guarantee if anything goes pear shaped.Strictly speaking if you cancel the DD they could issue proceedings in the small claims court but it seems unlikely they would, even if they might bluster and threaten to do so.

OP. It takes a few days for a DD to be set up. So I would suggest you keep a close eye on the account and as soon as a DD appears on the account cancel it.1

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice.
My uncle has had a polite email reply from the company customer services team agreeing that the order is cancelled so it might just be a dodgy salesman. They have said they might not be able to stop the direct debit being set up but they will cancel it and won’t take any money.

As others have intimated - don't take them at their word; as soon as you see the DD appear, cancel it.Jenni x2
