Just had the patio repointed and it looks messy. The chap said to wait three weeks before pressure washed. Am a bit concerned whether by pressure washing the patio the pointings will be disturbed. I also want to clean paving block but read after pressure washer I will need to fill the joints with sand again and sealed. The contractor who did the paving block never sealed them. Advice pl. Thanks

Yes, wait. The rain will do some if the pavers are messy.
The pressure washer and eternal rain seems to have taken some out at the edges and mines been done a couple of years. I'm going to ask the builder for a cup of whatever it's filled with so I can touch up in the summer.

I tried it on my block paving expecting miracles but it didn't seem to touch it. Mines old.
Filling the joints with sand is no big deal. Just spread on and brush in :)

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on

Sounds like a cowboy giving himself three weeks to make a getaway. It should have been left tidy after repointing. Did they use sand/cement mortar or one of the brush in compounds? Mortar should set hard enough to allow you to jet wash without worry. The brush in stuff takes ages to set in winter as it relies on drying out to set.

He is a handyman highly recommended. He uses sand, cement mortar he made his own mix. At £200 for half a day for small pain I thought I have been overcharged but it is my fault I did bother to shop around and most are not interested in small job. Thanks
