Am I entitled to JSA

Hello,
I'm having to sell my property to due the cost of living crisis, unfortunately I'm struggling financially. I have no savings after the sale of my property.
Because I'm having to sell my property I will be homeless unless I move back in with my parents, they live 50 miles away so I'm having to also resign from my full time job because its not feasible to commute 50 miles each way to work each day with no vehicle.
Will I be eligible for JSA from day 1 or will I have to wait a number of weeks?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you looked at renting somewhere so that you can continue to work? You will need to provide evidence as to why renting is not an option for you. You should draw up a budget to show that renting would leave you insufficient money to buy food or heat your rental property. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

Leaving a job voluntarily means you face a 13-week sanction

Lodgings? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

You may not get sanctioned if giving up work is unavoidable in the circumstances.

OP, what are you going to do with all of your possessions, furniture and belongings? What's your plan in regard to obtaining a job, will you be looking for work based from your parents'? I realise it's not exactly what the substance of the question was, but it's related. It would surely make most sense to get a job before the sale is completed, from wherever you are going to be looking for one. You can then move in with your parents before completion.0

You should also look at claiming Universal Credit as well as New style JSA. The JSA will just be deducted in full from your Universal Credit (UC) and you'll only receive about £1/month of UC but this will entitle you to the Cost of living payments.Although UC is means tested when you put your house up for sale if you're not living in it, it can be disregarded for up to 6 months. (sometimes longer if needed) You will need to tell them that it's up for sale though.Sanctions can apply to UC too but as others have said, due to your current circumstances there maybe no sanction.1

Sounds like a pause for thought is required, so that options can be considered.
Can the mortgage company offer a temporary payment holiday or reduced mortgage repayments for a period ?
What about taking in a lodger to rent any spare bedroom ?
Debt/budgeting advice to reduce outgoings ?
Local Council help with cost of living issues ?
Pay rise from employers or increased hours ? Or second job ? Or new higher paid job where you live now ?
Have you actually put the house on the market ? Selling costs ? Legal fees etc ?
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
