Cleaning "oven cleaner" off hob

I have made a mistake and used oven cleaner on my gas hob (obviously should have googled first, but what's done is done!)
However, this seems to have left some residue which is affecting the flames... They're tiny!
Is there any way I can rectify the issue?

1. If you have sprayed oven cleaner on aluminium burner caps you are likely to have ruined the caps, and the only solution is likely to be replacement.
2. Most oven cleaners contain sodium hydroxide, a very powerful alkali which attacks aluminium.
3. The slots in a burner cap are very carefully sized to provide the right pattern and intensity of flame.
4. You could try scraping out the slots with a sharp knife, but be very careful as widening the slots can give the wrong size and intensity of flame.2 -
There is a chance that when you have cleaned them that some residue has found its way into them nozzles.
Take them off and try and clear with a suitable size of needle before putting back on.
You can get gas nozzle cleaning tools quite easy if needed in the future.0
