no i'm not an affiliate, i just didn't want to see people getting ripped off on ebay.

i got taken down though :(

hopefully some people saw it and went to amazon (the only reason i mentioned amazon was because of all the online retailers last night, they seemed to have the most in stock (over 700 at one point) and it just seemed logical at the time.

    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

for telling people on ebay in an auction (saying NOT to buy the item) that amazon have hundreds of wii's at RRP and to buy from there and not from ebayers?
Would Tesco tolerate you walking around their stores telling people not to shop in Tesco but to go to Sainsbury instead? ;)

Ebay prices are very reasonable (RRP or less) at the moment and you could pay cash on collection, so I don't see why people should get ripped off as you mention. I think you are a little out of date with your observations

The problem is also I would imagine the rip off ebay sellers will be shill bidding as well. If the bidder you contact is a shill for the seller they will report you.

    Exactly what happened to me.

I tried to warn someone they were bidding on a Photo of a phone but ended up getting a rollocking from Ebay!! They told me if I did it again I would be suspended!! (I can only assume the guy I contacted was the shill bidder)

As it turned out the PHOTO went for over £150, the eventual buyer left a neg but I have no idea if he got his money back.
  • i have messaged other bidders over fake handbags , and when i first joined ebay someone kindly warned me off something i was bidding on , if ebay dont like it tough luck i would still do it

BTW they had loads of Wiis in Game yesterday
  • Hello, have you not seen the Wii's Spotted or Wanted. Please post all availability for the Wii here - Part 2 thread on the Grabbit board
No problem getting a Wii with the information given.

I'd hardly say there was no problem getting one. The fact that there's a specific thread just for highlighting where they are available indicates that, for most people, there are still difficulties getting one. And when places do get them in stock, they're still selling as quickly as they did from day one.

Not that any of this worries me as I've had one since lauch :D .

While it's a nice gesture, there are many people who only like doing what they know. And if they've bought from ebay/have an account already, you won't get them to buy from another site. They'll still buy from an e-bayer.

However, how would you feel about it if somebody was diverting YOUR income elsewhere?

Ebay isn't an MSE site. And the world is dog-eat-dog. e-bayers are likely to be people from here, struggling, trapped by circumstances, finally finding a way to make themselves a small income online.

    I'd have left it.
